A mother dog and her eight puppies, who were found tied to a tree in a remote wooded area, have been rescued and are now in safe custody. This distressing discovery was made on March 30 by a local resident in Sweet Home, Oregon, and shared by Knotty Creek Animal Rescue, describing it as a scene filled with cruelty and neglect.

The dogs were found with no food available other than a deer carcass nearby, according to a report by KATU. Despite the grim conditions, the mother dog maintained her resilience, taking care of her puppies and exhibiting a trusting and sweet demeanor.

Knotty Creek Animal Rescue, which had space to accommodate all nine dogs, reported on Facebook that the puppies, consisting of seven males and one female, were playful and energetic. They quickly adapted to their new environment, engaging with toys and giving their mother a chance to rest and recover from exhaustion and a leg injury. A veterinary check-up was scheduled for her shortly.

The rescue organization, as per Oregon Live, identified the dogs as Asian shepherds, aged between 9 and 12 weeks, and has started accepting adoption applications for them.

The initial tragedy of the situation has been transformed into hope, as these dogs are now on a path to recovery and finding permanent loving homes.
