A stray dog wandering along a highway near Oviedo, Florida, was in dire need of help. Luckily, a compassionate couple driving by stopped and rescued the poor animal. They discovered the dog, now named Lucky, had severely matted fur that impeded his mobility and obscured his vision, which almost led to a fatal accident.

Unable to care for Lucky overnight, the couple turned to social media for help, which attracted the attention of groomer Kari Falla. Kari immediately recognized the urgency of the situation and opened her BGE Grooming salon at 3 a.m. to help the dog.
The situation was worse than expected. Lucky was half-frozen, barely responsive, and unable to walk. The stench was overpowering, and his fur was severely matted for more than two years. Despite the challenge, Kari worked tirelessly to shave him, revealing the beauty beneath his matted fur.

At the vet’s office, Lucky received further medical attention, and it was discovered that he was both blind and deaf. Without the couple and Kari’s intervention, Lucky would have likely perished on the road.
After a successful surgery, Lucky was neutered and received vaccines and dental cleaning. The search for his forever home began, and Zachary Blair was inspired by Lucky’s tale of goodwill and offered him a permanent home.

This heartwarming story highlights the kindness and compassion of strangers and emphasizes the importance of rescuing and rehabilitating neglected animals.
