Sury, a once-neglected Shih Tzu, has undergone an incredible transformation that will leave you amazed. Found in deplorable conditions covered in fleas and serving as a host to cockroach nests, her remarkable journey to recovery is truly inspiring.
Jasper County Animal Rescue discovered Sury abandoned and suffering from severe flea infestation, with cockroaches taking refuge in her fur. Estimated to be around 10 years old, it was evident that she had endured neglect for an extended period.
Left outside a shelter in her carrier, Sury arrived in a distressing state, plagued with eye and ear infections, surviving on old, moldy food. However, her rescuers didn’t lose hope. They aptly named her Sury, a shortened form of Survivor, a name that perfectly encapsulated her spirit.
A dedicated team spent nearly five hours meticulously grooming her and addressing her health concerns to set her on the path to recovery. Gradually, her appearance transformed, a far cry from the distressed state in which she was found.
Despite the hardships she endured, Sury exuded boundless affection and resilience. Her remarkable turnaround is a testament to the power of compassion and dedicated care provided by her rescuers and caregivers.
