An extraordinary puppy, often referred to as a “magical unicorn,” is reportedly recovering after being saved from extremely cold conditions.
Identified by a small, additional tail on its forehead, this puppy was discovered by Mac’s Mission, a rescue organization in Missouri. They found him last week, accompanied by an older dog, wandering outdoors.
The young dog was dealing with a foot injury, but what truly astonished the rescuers was the tail located between his eyes.
Mac’s Mission posted the dog’s photo on social media, dubbing him “Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn.” This name has quickly endeared him to internet users worldwide.
The staff at Mac’s Mission recently took Narwhal to a veterinarian to investigate the reason for his extra tail. X-rays showed that the tail is not connected to anything internally, and thus, it is primarily an adorable feature that enhances Narwhal’s charm.
A video released by Mac’s Mission captures Narwhal energetically running and playing. The additional tail appears to cause him no discomfort.
The rescue team commented, “Narwhal’s unicorn-like facial tail doesn’t seem to affect him, and he behaves like any normal puppy. Apart from some typical puppy worms, which are being treated, he is in good health.”
For now, Mac’s Mission plans to keep Narwhal until they find a permanent home for him, once they feel he is ready.
In a recent statement about Narwhal’s popularity, the organization said: “It’s me Narwhal!! I don’t know about viral, but my foster mom says that my story going viral is aiding all the special needs dogs here at Mac’s Mission. Thank you.
“I’m thrilled to be a symbol for the beauty of being special. Goodnight, thank you, Narwhally.”
Narwhal is indeed a remarkable dog with a promising future.
