In a heartwarming turn of events, Moose, a Pit Bull with a bullet lodged in her lung and facing euthanasia, was granted an extra day that ultimately led to her rescue. Her savior, Mickey, came across her story and applied to adopt her. Moose was transported from Texas to Virginia to meet her new owner.
Upon arrival, Moose displayed signs of previous training and was fully potty trained. Surprisingly, the only noted issue leading to her initial “behavioral euthanasia” label was barking at other dogs.
Mickey, who has mobility issues, is training Moose to be her service dog. Furthermore, she is considering having Moose certified as a therapy dog due to her love for interacting with people, especially children.
Despite the unfortunate stigma surrounding her breed, Moose’s friendly and loving temperament has won over Mickey’s heart. The two share a strong bond, and Moose is a constant source of comfort, especially when Mickey isn’t feeling well.
While the bullet in Moose’s lung remains, it doesn’t bother her and cannot be removed without causing more harm. Mickey hopes that Moose’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of offering animals second chances and not judging them based on breed or past experiences.
