Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 in California, is well-accustomed to receiving calls about stray dogs in need across Southern California. One call, however, stood out when a compassionate individual informed her about three pups found on an abandoned Compton property, inseparably huddled together.

As soon as she heard the news, Hall realized the challenge ahead. Capturing one frightened dog is tough; three was daunting. Despite a delay caused by her rescue van breaking down, her commitment didn’t waver.

During the wait, Hall’s friend, Mary Nakiso, ensured the dogs were fed and healthy by visiting them each evening with nutritious food. When Hall arrived on the scene, she was touched by the strong bond the dogs shared. To avoid startling them, she spoke gently and reassuringly from a distance.

She quickly managed to rescue the smallest dog, Oscar, while Nakiso gained the trust of another pup, Jolene. Their older brother, Ollie, proved more elusive, hiding in a nearby garage, distrustful and scared. Giving him space, they initially took his siblings to Camino Pet Hospital for care.

Returning that evening with a humane trap, Hall captured Ollie, who waited in it the next morning. Reunited at the hospital, the trio was examined and then moved to a foster home, provided by Genavie Ochoa, to ensure they remained together.

While Ollie was still wary of people, his siblings quickly adapted to indoor life, enjoying the comforts of a loving home. They began to heal from their ordeal, slowly letting go of their past traumas.

@_genavie_ These sweet little babies 😫 I’m trying so hard to make friends with the other one. He’s just gonna need some more time and that’s ok. They were rescued from an abandoned house in Compton. Someone left these three little babies to fend for themselves. They’re literally so tiny! If you’re interested in adopting or fostering this Chihuahua family, they’ll be with Logan‘s Legacy 29. ##dog##dogs##rescue##puppies##Chihuahua##fyp##cuties##love ♬ original sound – Genavie

Hall expressed optimism about their future, confident that Ollie, Jolene, and Oscar would find a permanent home where they could fully embrace their newfound safety and affection. In the meantime, they were thriving under the care of their foster, experiencing peace and security like never before. Hall’s efforts exemplified a deep commitment to rescuing and rehabilitating animals in distress, ensuring they felt loved and protected.
