Pete Davidson, the comedian known for his performances on Saturday Night Live, announced on Instagram that his beloved dog Henry had passed away at the age of two. Davidson, who was set to return to SNL but had to cancel due to the writers’ strike, expressed his devastation at the loss of his furry friend. He described Henry as the “happiest and sweetest dog ever,” who saved his family’s lives during the pandemic. The star shared a series of photos of Henry and thanked him for reminding him of what truly matters in life.

Davidson, who is also set to appear on the new Peacock show Bupkis, shared the news of Henry’s passing through the Instagram account of Dave Sirus, one of the writers on the show. Although he did not specify the cause of Henry’s illness, Davidson stated that the dog had gotten sick very quickly.

While Davidson will not be hosting SNL this weekend due to the Writers Guild of America strike, he was set to debut as a host for the show’s 48th season alongside rapper Lil Uzi Vert as the musical guest. However, the show will be off the air for the time being and replaced by reruns until the strike is resolved.
