Over the following weeks, this dog made it a habit to follow her inside, take a short nap, and then leave. The mystery of his regular visits soon unraveled in a heartwarming twist.
“One day, an older dog that seemed well-cared for wandered into my yard,” the woman recalled. He approached her calmly, received some affectionate pats, and then made his way inside her home where he found a quiet corner to sleep. Roughly an hour later, he woke up, walked to the door, and she let him out.
This pattern continued for several weeks. The dog would show up, greet her, enter the house, and settle down in the same spot for his nap, then leave after about an hour. Driven by curiosity, the woman attached a note to his collar, hoping to connect with his owners. The note read: “I would like to find out who the owner of this delightful dog is and inquire if you know that your dog visits my house for naps almost every afternoon.”
The response she received the next day brought a surprising revelation. The dog returned with a new note attached to his collar stating: “He lives in a busy house with six children, two of whom are under three years old; he’s just trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?”
