A heartwarming story of two scared pit bulls who found comfort in each other’s company has been making rounds on social media. Minda, a dog fosterer, stumbled upon a picture of the two pit bulls snuggled up together in a nearby shelter and was immediately moved by the sight. She knew she had to take the dogs in and teach them what love felt like.

In a video shared on The Dodo’s YouTube channel, Minda narrated her experience of fostering the pit bulls. “I saw a picture of them hunched over in a corner holding on to each other. They looked so broken,” she said. “Their owner had dropped them off at the shelter without an explanation. It seemed all they had left was each other.”

When Minda and her husband Casey arrived at the shelter, they knew they had to foster the pit bulls. The smaller black pittie, Louie, was still so timid and scared that he stood under Bridget and shook nonstop during the drive home. Bridget, on the other hand, stood tall and kept an eye out for Louie. She seemed to think it was her job to keep Louie safe, and that’s precisely what she did.

Minda recalled that the two dogs had more trust in each other than they did for anyone else. They had to be crate trained and taught basic tricks like sitting. When the dogs finally got to meet the other household dogs, Minda was amazed at how they opened up just by being in their home.

Although the two pit bulls were opening up more and more, they were still completely attached to each other. They did everything together and had to be adopted together. Monica, a woman from San Diego who had been following their story for months, reached out to Minda to show her interest in adopting the two pups. The family drove Bridget and Louie all the way from Houston to San Diego to meet their new mom.

Minda admitted to struggling to let go of her two foster pups, but she knew that she had made the right decision. Bridget and Louie have been living happily with Monica for a few years now. Louie has become more energetic and outgoing, while Bridget still loves to curl up on the couch for hours. And above all, the dogs still prefer each other over anyone else.

If you’re touched by this story, please share it with your friends and family. These sweet pups’ journey can inspire and touch many hearts.
