He was one of 36 dogs rescued from a harrowing case of animal cruelty, bearing the scars of emaciation and cigarette burns. Finn’s path to recovery was marked by challenges, but in the embrace of his new family, he’s blossomed into a joyful, playful companion.
Finn’s initial arrival home painted a grim picture of his suffering. Severely underweight and bearing the cruel imprints of cigarette burns, his immune system was compromised, exuding the smell of infection. It took two weeks for Finn to begin shedding his initial fear and withdrawal, starting to exhibit the traits of a typical, happy dog.
Finn’s new family, cognizant of his traumatic past, provided him with a nurturing environment and the time to heal at his own pace. With blankets, pillows, and a quiet sanctuary to rest in, they slowly built a bond through walks and companionship. Finn initially sought refuge in their laps, seeking comfort and protection from past horrors.
Over time, trust blossomed, revealing Finn’s true nature – a cheerful, affectionate dog with a penchant for play, particularly with his rescue Pit Bull sisters, Poe and Penny. Overcoming his fear of water, likely stemming from past punishment, proved another hurdle. Yet, with unwavering support, Finn conquered this fear, embracing life’s pleasures wholeheartedly.
Dogs like Finn require extraordinary understanding and patience due to the trauma they’ve endured. However, the profound connection formed with these dogs is uniquely rewarding. Finn’s new family is dedicated to offering him the best life possible, and he has become their cherished companion and a beloved member of their household.
