Valerie Alexander, a resident of Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood, shares her home with her faithful companion, Rosie, a cherished canine friend who has been by her side for five years. As Valerie battles terminal brain cancer, her most heartfelt wish is to secure a loving home for Rosie before her final days.
“Rosie is part of my family, my child,” Valerie expressed to Fox 29.
Valerie yearns to meet the individuals who will provide a loving home for her beloved pup once she is no longer able to do so herself. Time is of the essence, with Valerie’s doctor estimating only weeks left to live. Her urgent hope is that Rosie will receive the same love she has provided throughout her life, avoiding any sadness, confinement, or mistreatment.
Valerie desires nothing more than to witness Rosie’s happiness, safety, and well-being before her own passing, emphasizing the preciousness of each day. She acknowledges that beyond today, everything is a gift, a sentiment that holds true for all.
Charles Bowles, a close friend of Valerie and Rosie’s trusted dogwalker, has joined the quest to find Rosie’s ideal forever family. He envisions Rosie thriving in the care of an energetic individual or family with abundant tennis balls and no other pets, offering ample space for her to frolic.
