Pitbulls have long been associated with aggressive and dangerous behavior, often receiving unfair treatment and being labeled as ticking time bombs. However, this stereotype is perpetuated by prejudiced individuals who have not had the opportunity to see their true nature. Pitbulls are, in fact, warm-hearted, kind, and incredibly loyal dogs.
Meet Lara, a pitbull who was found abandoned and tied to a tree outside the Greek port of Nafplion. Left without food or water, Lara was left to fend for herself in the woods. The tragic situation was made even worse by the fact that Lara was pregnant, and she gave birth to four puppies while tied to the tree.
Despite being malnourished and extremely dehydrated, Lara had somehow managed to take care of her puppies for 10 long, painful days until rescue workers found her. Even though nobody in the village wanted to adopt or take care of her, a kind soul reported her to an animal welfare organization, and they came to her rescue.
When the rescue workers found Lara, they were amazed to see her little puppies jumping around happily. Lara had not only guarded and protected them, but she had also managed to find enough food to feed them, all while being tied to a tree.
Although one of the smallest puppies didn’t make it, the other four survived, thanks to their heroic mother. The team that saved the dogs eventually found a foster home that would take care of Lara and her puppies.
Today, Lara and her puppies are doing well in their new home, thanks to the efforts of Linda at The Orphan Pet. Although Lara was initially shy and didn’t trust her new owner, she eventually realized that Linda was there to help and began to relax.
Lara’s story is a testament to the fact that all dog breeds have the potential to be affectionate and loving companions. Her strength and loyalty are truly something out of the ordinary.
