A heartwarming video of a devoted eagle has gone viral after it was captured by a hidden camera. The video shows Shadow, a male eagle, returning to the nest with some lunch for himself and his partner, Jackie. However, Jackie wanted the snack to herself, and after some bickering, she eventually took it, claiming that she deserved the best treats since she was the one who laid the eggs.
According to Sandy Steers, the executive director of Friends of Big Bear Valley, Jackie always gets what she wants as she has been observed for many years with a hidden camera. Steers noted that Shadow always lets Jackie be the boss and is very tender towards her. Jackie had previously been with another eagle, who flew away from the nest when Shadow arrived, and Steers believes that Shadow won Jackie’s heart by being more respectful and gentle than her previous mate.
Steers went on to say that watching the eagles build their nest and prepare for parenting can help viewers grow their empathy towards the wild world. The heartwarming video has been shared widely and is a reminder of the devotion and care that exists in the animal kingdom.
