Sarah Sleime, a volunteer at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (CMACC) in North Carolina, is no stranger to the sight of despondent animals seeking their forever homes. However, even she was deeply moved when she encountered Cinnamon, a Pit Bull at the shelter who seemed to have tears in her eyes whenever Sarah passed by.
Cinnamon, a 7-year-old Pit Bull, had a tragic past as a breeding dog, discarded by her previous owners, leaving her without her puppies. Sarah took to Facebook, sharing Cinnamon’s story and heart-wrenching video.
The video quickly went viral, garnering attention from countless people willing to offer Cinnamon a loving home. Sarah’s joy knew no bounds when her friend Megan Shelton decided to provide Cinnamon with a forever home.
Megan shared, “I have a special place in my heart for pit bulls. I think they’re a very misunderstood dog and a misunderstood breed. And when I saw her in that video, literally crying in a cage, I cried. My kids cried. I showed my husband, and he said we could go look at her tomorrow.”
