Animal Control Officer Diane Desrosiers intervened in Southgate, Michigan, after discovering 10 orphaned ducklings on a roadway, devoid of their mother. She swiftly secured them in a pet carrier for their protection, contemplating a reunion with a mother figure.
Diane then transported the ducklings to South Winds Golf Club, where a wild duck named Stella had recently hatched nine ducklings in a pond. This act offered the orphaned ducklings a chance to join a new family under Stella’s care.

Professional golfer Chris Grandy documented the moment Stella accepted the ducklings, describing it as profoundly touching. Stella’s immediate response to the ducklings’ plight by adopting them into her fold showcased the deep, instinctive bonds among animals. Stella’s readiness to incorporate the ducklings into her family ensured they would grow up in a nurturing environment.
Chris Grandy shared with FOX 2 News, “They lost their mom and now they got a new mom. It was the most precious kind of thing I’ve ever witnessed. It was such a motherly thing.”
