A tiny kitten was abandoned on the cruel streets of Istanbul. She eked out a living in an Istanbul alleyway, where she tried to survive as best as she could. Although other strays were able to benefit from passers-by, this kitten was completely neglected. The reason for this: She looked too awful to look at.
The kitten was born with facial abnormalities and one ear as a result of no fault of her own. She was malnourished and infested with parasites and skin illnesses. But because she was “too ugly” to rescue, no one did anything for her. But then, all at once, an angel appeared.
A little girl, just 7 years old, discovered a kitten living between two trash cans. The youngster didn’t care what the cat looked like; she knew she needed assistance and that was all that mattered. She scooped up the kitten and brought her home with her.
The tiny child pleaded with her dad to assist the kitten. He agreed, and they went to the veterinarian’s office. The girl and her father recognized that Gulumser needed a good life. They called her Gulumser, which means “she who always smiles”
He and his team arrived at the veterinarian’s office promptly. The kitten required food and water as well as parasites treatment. Then he gave the little girl some excellent news. He stated that he could surgically repair her face so she could breathe easier and eat normally, which was the greatest news they could have hoped for.
The “ugliest” kitten was transformed into a beautiful cat in just a few months, and after several operations. Let this be an example for us all so that we may learn not to judge books by their covers. Regardless of what they look like, ALL living things require love and happiness. We are thankful to the youngster and her father for rescuing Gulumser and providing her a wonderful, loving home.
