Bo, a large dog, was sadly left behind by his previous owner, who left him in a doghouse. Upon discovering Bo, Faith, one of the rescuers, immediately noticed his poor condition. Bo was suffering from mange and had recently been attacked by coyotes. Shockingly, he had never received any medical attention before or after the incident. It was clear that Bo needed urgent care and safety.
Earning Trust and Overcoming Challenges
Faith’s commitment to Bo’s well-being started by earning his trust through providing food and patiently sitting beside him. Although Bo longed for affection, he retreated inside his doghouse, refusing to come out. The rescuers attempted to coax him out by using a leash, but Bo ran and hid under the house, overwhelmed by fear and his imposing size. It took nearly 45 minutes of gentle coaxing for Bo to emerge. Eventually, by placing a calming blanket over his face, Bo began to relax.
