Nicholas, the shelter’s longest resident, watched as every other dog was adopted, while he remained locked in his kennel. Despite eagerly waiting with a wagging tail, no one chose him. Nicolas, an overlooked pup, was passed over time and time again as potential adopters chose smaller, younger dogs. Witnessing hundreds of dogs find their forever homes only added to his sadness.

Although he was only taken out once a day for a walk and some playtime, Nicolas adored people and was always eager to interact with his human friends. Despite the shelter’s amazing workers doing all they could to find him a home, posting his information on social media and local news, nothing seemed to work.
